How to prepare for your facial
Come with a clean face if you can, and avoid retinoids or exfoliating acids for two to three days before your appointment. On your intake form, let Leica know about any recent sun exposure, procedures or skin reactions so she can tailor the treatment to your skin that day.
Two to three days before
Pause retinoids and exfoliating acids for two to three days before your facial. Your treatment already includes exfoliation, and Leica customizes it to your skin's current state.
If you use Rejuvi products at home, that includes the Rejuvi 'a' Retinyl Serum, a vitamin A serum, and the Rejuvi 'g' AHA Serum, which contains alpha hydroxy acids. Not sure whether something in your routine counts? List it on your intake form and Leica will take it into account.
What to put on your intake form
The intake form arrives by email after you book. It's the best place to tell Leica what's going on with your skin, so be specific.
- Recent sun exposure
- Recent procedures or treatments
- Any skin reactions, including to products
- Active breakouts or a skin condition
- The products you use now, morning and night
- Prescription skincare or medication, such as Accutane, and pregnancy
When to check with your doctor
Every treatment is customized to your skin that day, but some questions are medical. If you're on Accutane, pregnant, being treated for cystic acne by a dermatologist or dealing with a rash, check with your doctor before booking and note it on your intake form.
On the day
Come with a clean face if possible. If you're coming straight from work in makeup, every facial begins with a double cleanse.
Park behind the building and enter from Oak Lane. Try to arrive on time: if you're late, Leica will give you the remaining time for your session, but the full service fee still applies.
Choosing your facial ahead of time
If this is your first visit, The 50 or The 75 is a good start. Want a peel? Stand-alone peels are for returning clients, so book the "With A Peel" version of your facial instead. The facial guide on the services page matches common skin goals to the right treatment.
The 50 starts at $115 and includes a double cleanse, exfoliation, extractions, serums, face massage, a customized mask, moisturizer and SPF. The 75 starts at $160 and adds a full face, neck, décolleté and upper arm massage, plus one enhancement.
