Why the Simply Deep Peel is for returning clients

The Simply Deep Peel is the most intensive peel on the Simply Facials menu, and it is not recommended for first-time clients. Leica would like to see your skin through a facial first, so she knows how it responds before choosing a stronger peel. It is $200 and takes about 20 minutes.

What is the Simply Deep Peel?

It is a stronger peel made with potent exfoliating agents and designed to work more deeply than the Simply Gentle Peel. It speeds up cell turnover and is aimed at stubborn concerns such as severe discoloration, deep wrinkles and acne scarring.

It is booked on its own, for $200 and about 20 minutes. Because it is more intensive than the Gentle Peel, it is saved for clients Leica has already treated.

Why Leica wants to see your skin first

A deeper peel works best when Leica already knows your skin: how it reacts to treatment, what you use at home, and how sensitive it tends to be. A first facial gives her that picture, and lets her talk with you about whether the Deep Peel or the Gentle Peel is the better fit.

The Simply Deep Peel is also not recommended for darker skin tones, as it may cause hyperpigmentation. Leica will suggest a gentler option if it is not right for you.

Who might consider it

The facial guide suggests the Deep Peel for returning clients with stubborn discoloration, deep wrinkles or acne scarring. A peel can help with these concerns, but every skin responds differently, and Leica will be honest about what is realistic for yours.

If you are pregnant, taking Accutane, or seeing a dermatologist for your skin, check with your doctor first and note it on your intake form.

How to prepare

A little preparation helps Leica plan a peel that suits your skin.

• Come with a clean face if possible.
• Skip retinoids and exfoliating acids for 2 to 3 days before.
• Note any recent sun exposure, procedures or skin reactions on your intake form.
• Afterward, wear SPF, avoid heavy makeup for the rest of the day, and skip harsh actives for at least 48 hours.
