Facials for sensitive or reactive skin

Sensitive or reactive skin can still enjoy a facial, because every treatment is adjusted to your skin that day. Simply Hydrodermabrasion and The 75 with a calming enhancement, LED red light or ice globes, are gentle places to start. Mention your sensitivity on the intake form so Leica can plan.
Where to start
Simply Hydrodermabrasion (75 minutes, $185) is gentle enough for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and the version without a peel has no downtime.
The 75 (75 minutes, $160) includes a double cleanse, exfoliation, extractions, serums, a full face, neck, décolleté and upper arm massage, mask, moisturizer and SPF, plus one enhancement you choose.
Calming enhancements
Two of the enhancements included with The 75 suit reactive skin well:
- LED red light + scalp massage: red LED light is used over the face while you relax with a scalp massage, a good pick for calming redness
- Ice globes: chilled glass globes are massaged over the face and neck, a good pick for redness, puffiness and a cooling finish
What to put on your intake form
The intake form arrives by email after you book. List what tends to set your skin off, any products that have stung or caused redness, prescription skincare, and any recent sun exposure, procedures or reactions.
Skip retinoids and exfoliating acids for two to three days before your visit. If you have a rash, a possible infection or a condition your doctor is treating, check with your doctor first.
When to skip the peel
A peel is always optional. If your skin is easily irritated, it is fine to book a facial without a peel so Leica can get to know your skin, then add one on a later visit.
The Simply Deep Peel is intensive and not recommended for first-time clients or for darker skin tones, as it may cause hyperpigmentation. If you do add a peel, use a gentle cleanser, moisturizer and SPF for three days afterward.
A gentle routine at home
The Sensitive or redness-prone routine uses fewer, gentler steps that calm and protect. Introduce the AHA cream slowly, stop anything that stings, and wear sunscreen daily.
